Maryam is an undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas majoring in Applied Health Sciences with a minor in Neuroscience. She plans to pursue a career in medicine and is particularly interested in the intersection of neuroscience, behavior, and human health. Her research interests focus on neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as the long-term effects of cannabis and other psychoactive substances on the brain. Through her research experiences, Maryam hopes to contribute to a greater understanding of neurological health and disease. Outside of academics and research, she enjoys binge-watching television series and relaxing with romantic comedy films.
